Disaster
“It’s not how much we give, but how much we put in our giving”
The major goal of comprehensive disaster management is to strengthen capacity for mitigation, management, and response to all hazards. These hazards include all types of natural and man-made disasters such as floods earthquakes hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, chemical and industrial fires, and oil spills, and involves all sectors of society. Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) also encompasses all stages of disaster management, that is, mitigation, prevention, preparedness, response and recovery with the broad objectives being to minimize disaster risks and improve resilience. ISWAR in its pursuit of promoting strategic disaster management and supporting vulnerable communities has constructively engaged with donors, civil society and government authorities to respond to disasters. ISWAR as a disaster relief agency, help people to survive and rebuild their lives through food, medical, education, shelter and livelihood programs.

It is needed to provide reliefs to the poor and helpless displaced people. ISWAR helps people to survive and rebuild their lives through food, medical, education, shelter and livelihood programs.
Due to the harsh repercussions of drought, the poor rural families lose their bread earner, which shakes the very instinct of basic survival .We should help people to survive and rebuild their lives through food, medical, education, shelter and livelihood programs.
Earthquake is one of the most devastating natural disasters on earth. The effects of earthquakes are ground shaking, ground rupture, landslides, tsunamis, liquefaction and fires. Although it is impossible to prevent earthquake from occurring, it is possible to mitigate the effects and to reduce loss of life, injuries and damage.
Wildfires occur when vegetated areas are set alight and are particularly common during hot and dry periods. They can occur in forests, grasslands, brush and deserts, and with sufficient wind can rapidly spread. Unchecked, such fires can cause devastation to forests and other areas of vegetation. fire can be deadly, destroying homes, wildlife habitat and timber, and polluting the air with emissions harmful to human health. Fire also releases carbon dioxide a key greenhouse gas into the atmosphere pollutes environment. We can reduce the wildfire caused by human activities through awareness campaign and stop the devastation of forest resources.
Main reason of road accident is high frequency of vehicles because Over Speeding, Drunken Driving, Distractions to Driver, Red Light Jumping, and avoiding Safety Gears like Seat belts and Helmets, Non-adherence to lane driving and overtaking in a wrong manner. The unplanned construction of the roads in rural area over speed on state highway is also same of the reasons for road accidents. The road accidents are frequent mostly of vehicles coming from other states that carry passengers in trucks in ties and occasionally accidents take place.
Some of the simple solutions identified to reduce road crashes, reduce the impact of death and injury due to road traffic crashes and their human and economic consequences include:
- ∙ Increased public awareness of the major risk factors, such as, drunk driving and driving while tired
- ∙ Better driver education.
- ∙ Medical care to victims of road accidents
- ∙ Better traffic policy for vulnerable pedestrians and the elderly.
- ∙ Design and implementation of road safety policies
